What to see with children in Arras?

Say Hello
to the giants!

Every big city in the North and Pas-de-Calais has its giants. It’s a true tradition in our region! The giants have come out once a year (usually in summer) and this is the occasion of a huge party in the city.
In Arras, you have the chance to admire at any time of the year. They are placed on the right entering the belfry. You will also find the office of tourism in the belfry. So, kill two birds with one stone 🙂

Visit the belfry and touch the clock at the top

Elected «favorite monument of the French in 2015», during a broadcast on France 2 television, the belfry of Arras can be visited. Better, we can climb to the top! An elevator brings you to the level of the clock. Warning, the last steps are however spiral. But the view of the city is superb! Guaranteed sensations!

Try «accrobranche»
in the citadel

A real adventure course in the heart of the citadel of Arras! Courses for all ages and levels are installed at the top of the trees. The reception team is friendly and very professional. Try the long zip line that passes over the moat! Note that it is better to book (but not required).

Discover Cité Nature

Housed in an old miners’ lamp factory, rehabilitated by the architect Jean Nouvel, Cité Nature is a cultural and scientific center devoted to questions about food and agriculture, nature and health. There is also a large vegetable garden to visit with a toboggan and a donkey.

Dream at the Museum of fine arts

The Museum of Fine Arts Arras has a partnership with the Palace of Versailles. Regularly, major exhibitions are organized on different themes (carriages of kings, the Treaty from Versailles). Discover the history of Arras with the permanent collections as well as the Saint-Vaast abbey building, also to admire.
Palais St Vaast 22 Rue Paul Doumer, 62000 Arras – Tel. +33 3 21 71 26 43
Closed on Tuesday.

Take a dip in the pool of Aquarena !

The big swimming pool of Arras is very nice! A large paddling pool is dedicated to toddlers. The small bath has a river, jets of water and a big slide. The big pool is reserved for good swimmers.
On Wednesday mornings and Saturday mornings, the «Babies Swim» session, in a heated spa pool, heated to 32 °C, is open to all children (from 6 months to 4 years old) and there is no need to book. You can buy swimsuits in the entrance.
